Gemstone Details:

One of the sub varieties of the Quartz family.  Aventurine is composed of the Quartz mineral with inclusions of mica.  A semi-precious stone that is usually cut as cabochons, crafted into carvings and beads. Often confused as Jade, best way to tell is under a loupe.  This gemstone can be in different colors such as: yellow, white, brown, red, orange, and gray.  It has the mineral hardness of a 7, making it durable for jewelry.  A gem that is very affordable, and plentiful.
